Political Choice.
For the political party of my choice, I have always been in favor of the Green Party. But when it comes down to it, I know putting my vote forth towards that party would probably not be the smartest decision. If I was voting for a party that realistically has a chance of winning, I would be in favor of the NDP. They seem to be the party that is more in favor of the people, so to speak. I think the part that grabs me the most is the Eco-Energy Program and the fact that clean energy is one of the key investments that the NDP is involved in. Whenever it comes to politics, the strive that a party has to make our country more environmentally friendly is huge to me. As well, the NDP want to invest in 1,200 more doctors in the next 10 years as well as 6,000 new nurses within the next 6 years. As well, the NDP want to reverse Harper’s cuts to pay equity and establish pro-active pay equity, and make housing more affordable, which I believe is a rising problem that needs to soon be resolved. Finally they want to protect transgender and transsexual Canadians from discrimination and impose tough consequences to infractions. I believe this is important because discrimination in our country needs to be put to an end, because Canada needs to continue to be a diverse country and accept each individual in order to keep this diversity. Those are the key points that would lead me to vote for the NDP overall.
